We are happy to announce that we will start seeing patients for regular appointments again beginning the week of May 18th. We hope you are all healthy, happy and ready to resume your orthodontic treatment. It is so exciting to be able to see you all again in person!
The world has changed since we saw you last, and we are all adapting to life with the COVID-19 pandemic. Your health and safety are always our top priority. With this in mind, you will notice some changes as we adhere to the interim guidelines of the CDC and Department of Health when you come for your appointment. In order to proceed with resuming regular care, we will be making the following temporary changes to our office procedures when you come to the office:
- Prior to your visit, if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 or have had any close contact with someone you know has symptoms of Covid-19, we ask that you please call our office ahead of time to reschedule your appointment.
- Our brushing stations will be closed. Please be sure to brush and floss at home before leaving for your appointment.
- Upon arrival at our office, a Chaison Ortho team member will meet you at the front door to the office to proceed with check-in procedures (if you arrive early, please stay in your car until your designated appointment time).
- Check-in will consist of hand sanitizing, checking temperature with an infrared thermometer and completing two new forms regarding COVID-19 (a supplemental health screening form and a treatment consent form).
- From this point on, we prefer that ONLY the patient that is being treated proceed into the office. If a parent/guardian is needed at the appointment, this will be limited to one individual only. If multiple family members are in treatment with us and have an appointment, they may enter as well.
- We ask that all people entering the office wear a facemask of their own. Due to shortages of personal protective equipment, we cannot provide facemasks for you. There are several easy, homemade masks that can be made.
- Patients will be asked to rinse with a hydrogen peroxide solution that we will provide.
- After completion of the appointment, a team member will escort the patient to the reception desk and schedule the next visit. We will plan to schedule the next appointment for a similar time of day as the appointment just completed. We
will provide a printed ticket for the appointment. If changes need to be made, please contact our office and we will happily find another date or time.
- In addition to taking these precautions and steps for our patients, the staff and doctor will also be screened in the same fashion for signs or symptoms of COVID19 each morning and afternoon.
- We will continue to follow the most strict and rigorous disinfection and sterilization protocols, along with disinfecting commonly touched surfaces 3 times per day.
- The reception area chairs and bench seating near the clinic will be limited to promote social distancing. All magazines, iPads and beverage stations have been put away.
